 Don't tempt the Lord your God ( Matthew 4:7 ) What does it mean to tempt God? There have been three ways people have tempted God: 1.> by challenging him, 2.> putting him on trial and 3. > subjecting him to their thinking A. People tempt God by challenging him: God created us, and he wants us to fear him. We fear him by observing his commandments. People who don't obey his commandments or voice are challenging him. They are telling him " that nothing will happen." When you are not keeping to God's commandments, you are challenging him. You are triggering his anger.  B: People tempt God by putting him on trial.
